Misti Potter is the CEO of the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Austin Area (BGCAA).
Misti’s nonprofit career spans more than 25 years, nearly all of which have been with the Boys & Girls Clubs movement. She launched her Boys & Girls Club career in Athens, AL, and later moved across the South to serve Clubs in Tennessee and back to her home state of Texas. Throughout her BGC tenure, Misti has become known as a change agent. Her nonprofit management expertise includes board development, program creation, marketing and public relations, staff and organizational development, general operations and executive level management. In 2020 Misti was a VISTAGE Executive Leadership Finalist, and in 2019 she was named a finalist for Austin Business Journal's Profiles in Power, and as CEO of BGC of the Austin Area, won the Doing Good, Ethics in Business Award. In 2013, Misti received the Boys & Girls Clubs of America’s Southwest Region Rookie of the Year Award, and in 2014 she was selected as the recipient of the Jim Wetherington Southwesterner Award for the Southwest Region. Misti has also received both the Boys & Girls Clubs of America’s Regional and National Professional of the Year awards. A proud Lone Star State, 5th generation native, who was born and raised in rural West Texas, Misti lives in Austin with her husband and their two sons. In her spare time, she enjoys reading and writing, and is an avid hunter and sports enthusiast. |
